i really cant say.i use a compound bow.and my crossbow is a compound.i would suppose the let of on the compound bow and its speed would make it better.my crossbow makes a lot of noise when i shoot it and has caused a lot of deer to "jump the shot".so i went back to using the compound.i cant lie...i suck at bow hunting.i keep applying gun tactics to bowhunting and the two just dont mix.

i really put the bow to work this year. as i stated i suck at it but this year i practiced, practiced, practiced and practiced some more! i took a 8 point and 5 does with my compound. but not without problems. all of the deer that came by was in heavy brush. the shots i was makeing were at 10 yards or less and straight up and down. i tried to spine shoot all of them. the arrow would be right next to the backbown and travel all the way through the brisket. however these super human deer were running 100 to 200 yards before crashing making it difficult to find them. i was using muzzy broad heads and grim reaper mechanical 100 grains but still had the same problem. can any of you bow hunters out there give me some tips?

Default Recurve and Longbow

I have always shot either longbow or recurve from the start. I much prefer the simplicity and grace of a longbow and recurve. The 1#7-12oz mass weight doesn't hurt much either... especially out in the field. Knowing you have to get close to your animal makes hunting much more fun than just sitting in a tree for me.

Aloha...
