Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are reporting a possible wolf mortality in the remote backcountry of the Madison Range. A mortality signal from a radio collar was received indicating the possible death of a wolf from the Wedge Pack. However, due to difficult snow conditions and human safety concerns, the scene will not be investigated until spring.
