A normal pole and either bread or worms. I have heard that if you throw cat or dog feed(can't rember which) into the area you are going to be fishing in for a couple of days, the fish will bit more. I think this is for catfish... I don't know about others.

I've always used a regular rod and reel, nothing specific, with a fly for the hook, and just tralled (sp?) the water slowly and waited for them to bite. That method worked pretty good. I have seen people do well with a bamboo pole and a string, so I can't say that it doesn't work. Course nowadays people use all kinds of electronic sonars and stuff. But I think that takes the sport out of it. After all, you got the give the fish a fighting chance, eh?
