Default Colorado Archery Elk Hunt

Are you looking for a great Archery Elk hunt during the prime rut? Look no further. We will be on location filming for our National TV show with our sponsors and great friends from Victory Archery and we have a few more openings left. This hunt normally sells for 3250 but when you call Jeff and Theresa and tell them that Randy from North American Safari sent you the hunt will be 3000.00 plus license. We are looking to have a great time and get some great footage for the show. You can email me as well if interested.

Hunt Dates are September 22nd through the 29th

Battlement Mesa Outfitters offers two FULLY GUIDED camps, which are in the Grand Mesa National Forest. We are located in Western Colorado, (GMU’S) 421 and 42. The area has diverse terrain consisting of: gambles oak, aspen, sub alpine meadows, and high mountain lakes. This area has everything the Elk and Deer are looking for. This hunting area will range in elevation from 7,500 feet to above 10,000 feet.

Battlement Mesa Outfitters understand that for you to have a successful and enjoyable Hunting experience. We must provide comfort to you and quality game. To insure your comfort we provide:

We have 2 fully guided camps, 1 holds 6 hunters at a time, the other is a 10 hunter camp. We supply all camp equipment, tents, cots with foam pads, wood stoves, firewood cut and stacked, lights run on a small generator. We pride ourselves by offering an upscale camp/hunting experience in the backcountry. We have a full time cook serving all you can eat meals, including breakfast, lunch and dinner. Examples are a full breakfast not a continental like some outfits have, our dinners will be steak, turkey, roasts fresh baked bread and desserts, if you leave our table hungry it will be your own fault. You will also find the convenience of a HOT SHOWER to insure ultimate comfort after a hard day’s hunt. All the hunter furnishes is a sleeping bag, rifle, archery, or muzzleloader, clothing, and licenses.
Battlement Mesa Outfitters understands that for you to have a successful and enjoyable hunting experience, we must provide to you comfort and quality game. Our camps are located right in the heart of a large resident Elk and Deer herd. The numbers of elk in our area, the Grand Mesa herd, is around 10,000 animals. We have a tremendous Mule Deer population, and great quality. The guide to hunter ratio will be 1x2 or 1x1 if requested.

Other services provided by Battlement Mesa Outfitters:
 •
Grand Junction Airport pick-up and return
Professional Guides and Packers
Packing out game and transporting to a meat processor
Skinning and Caping your trophy
 • Well trained mountain horses
The pack-in hunts are conducted from tent camps set in the hunting area. Horses are the only means of travel to and from these camps. You will have a good gentle horse or mule daily. The tents have wood stoves and cots with mattresses and some type of light. All wood is cut and we use fuel oil for starting fires. All meat will be skinned, animals caped and made ready for the taxidermist of your choice. The meat will be packed out to our base camp, and placed in our walk-in cooler. From the Base camp it is the clients responsibility to arrange for processing or cooling. Any transport of meat past Collbran, we will expect the client to pay for those services.

We have 6 man camps and 10 man camps. The guide ratio can run from 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 or 1 on 3 whatever the client would want. Our percentage of kill has run from 50 to 90% depending upon the camp and the weather. Weather plays a big part in any hunting. Our people are good, hard workers and Fred and Bill work right along with them in the camps. Many outfitters don't go to camp and work. Our wives work along doing the cooking. This is a family operation and the whole family will work hard for you as a client.

For those who like the smaller camps our six man camps produce a high percentage of 5 &6 point bulls and good bucks. They are all pack in and horses are the only means of transportation. They are on private land, National Forest and BLM.
