|  go to the sporting goods store and get turkey loads and print out sum turkey targets online and find out how close you need to be your 870 will work fine |

| jest get a good turkey choke tube . but the 870 I have was made for turkey camo 31/2in with turkey choke and fiber op sights can kill out to 40 yards |

| I also have a 870 with the stock smooth barrel. Last year I used this gun with a turkey choke and #4 Turkey load made by remington. I used only the bead sight and was sucessful with two toms. Both were shot at 30 or so yards. Make sure you shot it at some targets before hand. I hear every gun is different. |
