Hello, I am a new member. Most of all my hunting is for squirrels. the season starts september 1st in ohio. Soon I will be out getting some shooting practice with my rifle. I am ready for the new season. I am wanting to hunt coyotes and wild hogs also. It will be better fishing when it gets cooler this fall, so it is a hard choice of fishing or hunting? I will write back latter. thank you, J stoody

Hello I am also a new member. I know what you are going through, to decide wether to go hunting or fishing. I also live in Ohio, my girlfriend and I cant wait for bow season to start Sept.30 . It seems like a lifetime away but it will be here soon. We also love to go fishing for bass, catfish and well just about anything that will bite.

From J Stoody, Thank You Undertak er79 for your reply ( or email). I went out rifle target shooting last saturday. The guns were 22long, 22 mag, and8 mm mauser that I purchased from mitchells. I can not see that well with just the open sights on the 22 long and the mauser, but I do have a bushnell trophy scope on my 22 ruger magnum. The remington gold box ammo shot real nice groups (1/4") at 40 yards. That was shooting from the rest. A couple targets I managed one hole shots, just lucky.

always shoot what's comfortable. if it's with a scope, then do it. if it's iron sights, then do it. i hunt puffy tailed rats with a .410 personally.

| depends on what your looking for. if you dont care if its tube fed i would go for the mod 60, when i bought mine with iron sights it was dead on right out of the box. me and my brother went out and i shot 9 squirrels and my best shot was a squirrel with just his head pokin out and i nailed him. however i also recently bought a remington 597 that i am in love with so theres my personal opinion
